RDW · $117 million printed. Edge Autonomy is the defense line. VLEO has not flown.

Redwire is space hardware plus uncrewed aircraft after Edge Autonomy. Q2 billed $117.1 million. DARPA’s Otter air-breathing satellite is a manufacturing contract, not a spacecraft in VLEO.

Why this name is on the tape

Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) is a Jacksonville, Florida space-and-defense company. The old story is ISS payloads, solar arrays, and satellite structures. The live mix after the June 2025 close of Edge Autonomy is two segments: Space and Defense Tech (uncrewed aircraft such as Stalker). Very-low-Earth-orbit headlines — SabreSat, Phantom, DARPA Otter — are a third clock.

This article keeps Q2 revenue and the Edge Autonomy aircraft line apart from VLEO demos that have not flown. It is not a ranking of the stock and not a trade instruction.

What has actually printed

For the quarter ended 30 June 2026 Redwire reported record revenue of $117.1 million, up 89.6% year over year, and record gross margin of 27.8%. Space billed $55.2 million. Defense Tech billed $61.9 million, up from $5.1 million a year earlier. Management said Edge Autonomy was the primary driver of that defense jump. Contracted backlog was a record $542.1 million. Bookings in the last two quarters were described as more than $350 million.

Follow-on Stalker Block 30 awards from the Marine Corps robotic-autonomous-systems office and from the Army’s 1st Aviation Brigade are aircraft orders. They are not satellites, and they are not VLEO.

VLEO is a contract, not a spacecraft in the air

In November 2025 Redwire announced a $44 million DARPA Phase 2 award to finish manufacturing and deliver a spacecraft for Otter, an air-breathing very-low-Earth-orbit demo on the SabreSat platform. DARPA had not disclosed a flight date. Phase 2 funding to complete a vehicle is not a satellite operating at 90–450 kilometers.

Redwire has also pointed to ESA Skimsat work and digital engineering for a planned DeepSat VLEO constellation. A planned constellation and a European study are not Q2 Space revenue of $55.2 million, which is the existing hardware-and-missions book.

What this does not tell you

A $117.1 million quarter with Defense Tech larger than Space is evidence that Edge Autonomy aircraft now dominate the mix. It is not proof that Otter flies, that SabreSat becomes a production VLEO line, or that every dollar of the $542 million backlog is space. Eleven acquisitions in company history are a method. They are not organic VLEO sales.

On MarketNeon, RDW is a ticker like any other: price, volume, crowd mentions, and headlines can run hot on an air-breathing satellite sketch while the billed line is Stalker and space hardware. This article is context for those prints. It does not rank the name, and it does not tell anyone to buy or sell.
