POET · Context

POET · $570 thousand printed. The $50 million Lumilens order is not that check.

POET makes wafer-level optical engines for AI optics. Q2 billed $569,925, mostly NRE. Volume shipments are a second-half 2026 target. A $500 million framework is not revenue.

Why this name is on the tape

POET Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: POET) is a Toronto photonics company. The product is the Optical Interposer: electronics and photonics on one wafer-level chip, sold as optical engines and light sources into 800G and 1.6T modules for AI clusters. It is not a poetry ETF and not a finished transceiver brand on a hyperscaler rack map.

This article keeps Q2’s $569,925 print apart from purchase orders, production ramps, and multi-year frameworks that still need qualification. It is not a ranking of the stock and not a trade instruction.

What has actually printed

For the quarter ended 30 June 2026 POET reported $569,925 of NRE and product revenue, up 13% from $503,389 in Q1 and 112% from $268,469 a year earlier — a sixth consecutive quarter of sequential growth. Net loss was $11.3 million, or $0.07 a share. Cash and short-term investments were $796.3 million after a $400 million financing in May. Sequential growth on a sub-million-dollar base is still a sub-million-dollar base.

Orders and frameworks are not Q2 engines shipped

Management said an optical-engine production ramp remained on schedule for the second half of 2026, with volume shipments to customers. A ramp target is not Q2’s $569,925, which the company still described as historically NRE for unique Optical Interposer projects.

  • Lumilens (May 2026): a supply agreement and joint-development framework. Lumilens placed an initial purchase order for Optical Interposer-based engines valued at $50 million, described as the first phase of a relationship that could scale to more than $500 million of cumulative purchases over five years. The company has said Lumilens revenue is contingent on module development, qualification, and manufacturing scale-up. A purchase order with milestones is not Q2 revenue.
  • 800G production order (October 2025): an initial order valued at more than $5 million for Infinity 800G transmit and receive engines, targeted to ship in the second half of 2026. Targeted to ship is not shipped.
  • Customer engagements: more than ten active seats that the company has said could exceed $100 million of future annual revenue, including Lumilens, the 800G order, and an NRE agreement for external light sources. Future annual revenue is not this quarter.

What this does not tell you

A $569,925 quarter and $796 million of cash are evidence that POET can fund a production attempt. They are not proof that H2 2026 volume shipments land, that the $50 million Lumilens order qualifies, or that a $500 million five-year framework becomes purchases. Capacity talk of tens of thousands of engines in 2026, or much larger 2027 run-rates, is a target.

On MarketNeon, POET is a ticker like any other: price, volume, crowd mentions, and headlines can run hot on an AI-optics clip while the billed line is still NRE. This article is context for those prints. It does not rank the name, and it does not tell anyone to buy or sell.
